The one actually called (currently, not at first) “Choose Chicago” is a subsidary of (owned by) the other, with few board members, and those there, paid by the “related” 501©6 with the longer name, created in 1970 by a merger (see Wiki) of several others. That other one is more “flush” and its primary revenue, year after year (and constantly increasing –a lot!) is government grants. The “membership fees’ of about $2M, however, did not show major increase over the same time period (I looked ca. 2003 – 2014). At some point (as I recall) there was also a fiscal year-end change to the 501©6.
